As organisations adapt to technological advances, shifting workforce needs and challenging business problems, human capability is becoming more critical than ever. Amb. Dr. Deepa Chhagan Lalloo, aka Sunaina, shares how her experience in organisational psychology, executive leadership and business advisory can help.

Deepa is Founder and Managing Director at Altius Global Advisory and is passionate about enabling leaders to interpret existing capabilities, envision requirements, and devise pragmatic action plans towards organisational effectiveness. She brings together approaches in the areas of people development, business design, operational excellence, and strategy execution.

Her earlier role at the Group Global was to develop and consolidate group functions for human capital in 18 subsidiaries in 12 countries across the African continent, the UAE, India and Kazakhstan. This experience is multinational by nature – spanning organisational structures, workforce transformation, governance, shared services and business systems integration.

She was involved in talent management and leadership development projects at BDO. From September 2018 to August 2025, she was an assessor for the Oxford Executive Leadership Programme at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, assessing senior executives and giving developmental feedback.

Her approach to leading is underpinned by three levels of leadership potential, capability and impact. Potential is the ability to develop, capabilities are developed through knowledge, experience, judgement and practice, and impact is when leaders use those capabilities purposefully. This thinking about leadership is particularly pertinent as automation and AI impact the nature of our work.

Deepa has also been recognised as a Peace Ambassador and honorary doctorate award winner of 2026 by Kennedy University with specialising in the field of Organisational Psychology, Strategic Management and Leadership. She is also an author at GlobalX Publications.
