Lassy LL Chiwayo's career is one example of this having started out during South Africa's liberation movement and culminating in the democratic era along with authorship.

South Africa was in apartheid when Chiwayo was involved in the liberation movement and was imprisoned as a result in 1985.

For three years, from 1987 to 1990, he was in Robben Island jail. Since South Africa's democratic transition, Lassy LL Chiwayo was a representative of a South African municipality as Senator representing Mpumalanga from 1994 to 1996 and following the creation of a democratic government has been the Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Sports, Culture and Recreation and then has served as the MEC for Finance from 1997 to 1999. His service in the public eye then extended to a leadership role as the Chief Whip of the Mpumalanga Legislature between 1999 and 2001. As can be seen, he gained vast experience in coordinating legislations, working within the provincial administration, financial management and dealing with both public institutions and sports and culture.

And subsequent, regional and international Diplomatic roles involved relating to Central East Asia and related organizations from 2011 to 2012.

Chiwayo took up the position of the Executive Mayor for a municipality called Mbombela Local Municipality from 2008 to 2011 with the city including the hosting of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Thereafter, he had a diplomatic role working with regional and international organizations relating to Central East Asia from 2011 to 2012. And now, he has moved into authorship as one of the new authors of GlobalX Publications.
