Chicken Road Productions, an independent French-language publication covering crash games, today published a 10,000-round controlled test of the "predictor" tools sold to crash-game players — software and Telegram bots that claim to forecast when the next round will crash. The test replays the exact same stream of 10,000 simulated rounds under two strategies, so the only difference is the strategy itself:
- With a 1% house edge, following the predictor's signals lost 218.5 units — worse than a simple fixed cash-out at 1.50x, which lost 160.0 units on the identical rounds.
- With a 3% house edge, the predictor lost 387.5 units against the fixed strategy's 352.0 units.
- The predictor's core promise — that a very low round predicts a high next round — failed its own signal test: after rounds ending below 1.10x, the next round's median outcome was 1.93x, indistinguishable from the overall median of 1.96x. Past rounds carry no information about the next one.
- Cashing out at an ultra-cautious 1.01x won 97.9% of all rounds — and still finished 112.1 units down. A high win rate is not a profit.
"Predictor sellers look successful because they show win rates and screenshots, never net balances over thousands of rounds," the publication's team notes. "When you replay their exact logic on a published stream of rounds, the product does not underperform by a little — it finishes behind doing something deliberately simple, in every scenario we ran."
The full test is published as an interactive page: readers can replay the same reference rounds themselves, switch the house-edge scenario, and inspect the results round by round. The complete 10,000-round dataset is attached as a free download, and the simulation method and seed are published in full: https://chickenroadproductions.com/en/guides/crash-game-predictors/
