NEW DELHI, India – Aug 31, 2026 — Organizations still running Lotus Notes for email now have a more controlled way to move that data into Microsoft 365, following a Version 2.0 update to the NSF to Office 365 Converter Expert from Datavare Software. The update is only available for Windows yet.

The updated tool includes four changes. A new preview pane allows users to open an NSF file and review emails, contacts, calendars and tasks before committing to a migration, rather than converting blind. The idea is taken one step further with a selective export option, which enables users to pick and choose specific folders or items rather than exporting an entire mailbox at once. The interface itself has been revamped to make it easier to navigate and to reduce the steps for users who are not IT specialists. The software’s menus and prompts are now available in 19 languages, expanding its reach beyond English speaking teams. As before, the tool is only available for Windows and requires a Lotus Notes installation on the machine performing the conversion.

“Most Lotus Notes to Office 365 migrations fail or get stuck because people cannot see what they are moving until it is already done,” said Smera Katoch, Co Founder and Head of Development at Datavare Software. “"Letting users preview and choose their data first, in a language they are comfortable working in, removes a lot of the guesswork that used to come with these projects."

Based on feedback from that base, Datavare says, the NSF to Office 365 Converter Expert was shaped with an average score of 4.7 out of 5 with user ratings, which influenced the priorities for this release. The company is positioning the update as part of a wider rollout of Version 2.0 across its email migration portfolio, although Mac support elsewhere in that rollout is not being offered to this particular tool.
