KnowBe4, a global leader in digital workforce security, protecting both people and AI agents, announced its new vishing simulation feature, designed to help organizations close what has become the fastest-growing gap in security awareness: the telephone channel.

Vishing has ceased to be a niche tactic and has become a widely used attack vector. CrowdStrike's Global Threat Report 2025 pointed to a 442% increase in vishing activity between the first and second halves of 2024, and Mandiant's M-Trends 2026 Report now ranks voice phishing among the top initial infection vectors faced by organizations. The Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report 2025 found that employees are 40% more likely to fall for mock phone tests compared to traditional email phishing.

"An urgent phone call from someone pretending to be from your IT department or a C-level executive creates instant pressure, and cybercriminals are using AI voice cloning to make these calls incredibly convincing," said Greg Kras, Chief Product Officer at KnowBe4. "To build true organizational resilience, security teams can no longer focus solely on the inbox. With our new vishing simulation feature, we are providing security leaders with the tools they need to train employees on all major social engineering vectors in order to prevent these types of attacks."

Vishing simulation is now available within the Attack and Simulation pillar of the KnowBe4 Platform, which aims to protect both humans and AI agents. The results of vishing simulations feed into the same reports and risk visibility that organizations already rely on for phishing data and training, influencing the Risk Score™, which presents a unified view of human and AI risk across all channels.

Highlights of the New Feature
Training for evolving threats: Expands security awareness training to the telephone channel, one of the fastest-growing and least-tested vectors of social engineering.
Real-world resilience: Employees practice recognizing live, high-pressure phone tactics in a secure environment, rather than encountering them for the first time in a situation with a real intruder.
Visibility for security leaders: Vishing susceptibility reports offer security leaders the same data-driven insight into voice-related risks that contributes to the overall Risk Score.
Real-life attacker tactics: Local caller ID, realistic personas, and customizable multi-step scenarios replicate how modern vishing attacks are actually carried out.
