MG has unveiled two new concept cars at Goodwood and both give an idea of where the brand wants to go next. One is the MG GO!, a compact electric hatchback concept that previews a production model expected in 2027. The other is the MG Cyber Concept which looks ahead to a large electric performance SUV. Together, it show MG's future direction.
The MG GO! is the more approachable of the two. It is a B-segment electric hatchback with subtle retro-inspired styling. MG says it wanted to create something compact, modern and easy to like. The GO! design also takes inspiration from older MG models especially the MGB GT. On the outside, it get clean and simple cues. It has a compact shape, smooth body panels and very few design lines. The overall look is neat rather than flashy. The concept was designed by MG's London design team, led by Carl Gotham.
The MG Cyber Concept takes a very different approach. It previews a future D-segment electric performance SUV and is being shown as a flagship concept. Its design is inspired by MG's history of speed and innovation including the EX181 land speed record car. The Cyber SUV has muscular proportions, a wide stance and sculpted bodywork. All of this gives it a strong road presence. MG says every part of the design was shaped to show movement and energy. Even when standing still, it looks sporty and ready to move.
These two concepts are not just design studies. MG says they show where the brand is heading while keeping its British heritage alive. The GO! brings the playful side of MG into a compact electric hatchback. The Cyber Concept takes the performance side of the brand into a larger electric SUV.
According to MG's design team, the aim is to make cars that people can connect with quickly. Carl Gotham says the GO! was designed to feel compact and relevant instead of looking only nostalgic. Jozef Kabaň says good design starts with people, not products. He also says the goal is to build cars with a strong identity that people can recognise straight away. Together, these two concepts give a better idea of how MG wants its future electric cars to look and feel.
Both concepts made their debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2026 in the UK. It is one of the biggest automotive events, making it the right place for MG to show both its heritage and future ideas. The company says these concepts also reflect its engineering and technology capabilities while keeping the emotional side of driving alive. The MG GO! points towards a compact electric hatchback for everyday driving. The Cyber Concept hints at a bigger and more performance-focused electric SUV. They are still concepts, but they give a fairly clear idea of where MG is heading next.
