Zyaku Launches Offline Safety Tools: Medical ID, I'm Safe Check-Ins and an Offline Hospital Map

Zyaku, the offline-first platform for creators and journalists, launched safety tools that keep working when the network fails: a Medical ID any phone can scan, one-tap I'm Safe check-ins and an offline map of nearby hospitals and shelters.

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 20, 2026: Zyaku, the offline-first platform for creators, journalists and communities, today announced a set of safety tools built for the moments when connectivity fails: floods, earthquakes, storms and network shutdowns. The tools are live now on the web, in the installable app and on phones, and they are free for every Zyaku user.

Emergency Medical ID with a scannable QR code
Users record their blood group, allergies, medicines and emergency contacts. Zyaku turns the details they choose into a QR code that a responder can read with any phone camera, with no internet and no app. The Medical ID is encrypted and stays on the user's own device; Zyaku keeps no copy. Organ donor status stays off unless the user turns it on.

I'm Safe
With one tap, users can tell the people they trust most that they are safe. People join a user's circle only by accepting an invite, phone numbers stay on the phone, and sharing location is the user's choice every time. Check-ins stay private and never appear in the public feed.

An offline map of hospitals and shelters
Users save their area while they are online. Later, with no internet, Zyaku uses the phone's GPS to show nearby hospitals, clinics, shelters, police and fire stations, with distance and direction. Place data comes from OpenStreetMap.

Offline Packs for creators
Creators can bundle comic chapters and videos into Offline Packs. Readers download a pack once on Wi-Fi, then read or watch anywhere, including on flights, on trains and in places with weak coverage. Creators can sell packs and set their own price.

"In a disaster, the first question is always the same: are my people okay?" said Rohit Kashyap, Founder and CEO of Zyaku. "We built these tools so the answer, and the help you need, are already on your phone when the network is gone."

The safety tools are set up once while online and keep working with no connection afterwards. Zyaku is not an emergency service: in an emergency, people should call their local emergency number first.
