Strategic management is really effective if combined with capable staff, proper organizational and the consistency of implementation. Amb. As Founder and Managing Director of Altius Global Advisory, Dr. Deepa Chhagan Lalloo (aka Sunaina) adds this perspective to her clinical practice.

She has a track record in multinational executive leadership, human resources strategy, organisational design, workforce transformation, business advisory and entrepreneurship. This work has given her first-hand experience of the hurdles that organisations encounter when getting people, operations and long-term business goals working together.

She was Executive Director of Human Resources and Human Capital at AvaCare Health Group Global, where she was responsible for developing and centralising the human capital operational functions across 18 subsidiaries in 12 countries in Africa, UAE, India and Kazakhstan. Her expertise included governance, shared services, finance integration, and IT implementation and mergers and acquisition integration.

Her work experience with BDO also encompassed talent management, organisational development, leadership development, succession planning and performance management. These areas highlight the importance of the need to link strategic planning with the skills of the workforce and operational decisions.

Deepa has a Masters' Degree in Organisational Psychology from the University of London and a B.A. Degree from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. In 2026, her contributions to the field were acknowledged by the Kennedy University with honorific recognition as a Peace Ambassadorship as well as an honorary Doctor of Doctorate degree, with specialisations in Organisational Psychology, Strategic Management and Leadership.
