Amb. Dr. Deepa Chhagan Lalloo Emphasises Communication in Effective Leadership.

It's all about the how – how leadership communication links business strategy, employee understanding, and the organisation's actions. Amb. Dr. Deepa Chhagan Lalloo or Sunaina as she is popularly called applies this idea in her line of work in Organisational Psychology, Human Capital Strategy & Executive Development.

As Founder and Managing Director of Altius Global Advisory, she is dedicated to building human capability and empowering organisations to apply strategic priorities into delivery. Her vision is that good communication is more than the delivery of instructions. Leaders need to articulate expectations, create awareness and set conditions for others to perform.

At BDO she specialised in talent management and organisational development, learning and development, leadership development, succession planning, performance management and employee engagement. These are all subject areas that is highly regulated by communication that is positive from the leaders, to managers and the employee.

Deepa was an assessor for the Oxford Executive Leadership Programme (Saïd Business School), University of Oxford, from September 2018 to August 2025. She was involved in assessing senior executives and providing feedback to enhance their learning and application as leaders.

Her previous experience as Executive Director Human Resources and Human Capital of Ava Care Health Group Global connected her to the management of human capital operations for 18 subsidiaries in 12 African countries, the UAE, India and Kazakhstan. Multinationality demands unification of people, processes, and business.

Deepa's MSc is in Organisational Psychology with the University of London. In 2026 Kennedy University awarded her a Peace Ambassadorship and an Honorary Doctorate degree specialising in Organisational Psychology, Strategic Management and Leadership.

In her role as a author of GlobalX Publications, she engages in broader conversations within the profession on topics such as leadership, human behaviour and organisational development.
