Amb. Dr. Deepa Chhagan Lalloo Explores the Importance of Learning and Development in the Workplace.

Workplace learning is a key part of dealing with new responsibilities, new technologies and changing performance expectations in your workplace. Amb. Dr. Deepa Chhagan Lalloo aka Sunaina has worked in the field of learning and development, human capital strategy and organisational development.

Deepa as Founder and Managing Director of Altius Global Advisory, specialise in the growth of human capability and enhancement of organisational effectiveness. Her belief is a reflection of strengthening the linkage between what is learned and what is happening at the workplace and not the isolated nature of the activity.

At BDO, she was involved in learning and development, talent management, organisational development, leadership development and succession planning. The functions above assist organisations and teams to understand the skill sets that are needed, support the growth of their people and prepare them for more senior roles.

Another important part of her work was also in the development context, by evaluating senior executives for the Oxford Executive Leadership Programme at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, which she did from 2018 to 2025. Here she offered developmental feedback, which linked leadership learning to what senior executives face in real life.

Deepa's multinational human capital experience at Ava Care Health Group Global has been to lead the building and centralising of operational functions for 18 subsidiaries in 12 African countries, the UAE, India and Kazakhstan. MNCs operate in diverse settings where workforce capability, process uniformity and skills need to be scaled and specialised.

MSc in Organisational Psychology University of London. Her further professional development has included business sustainability management, managerial finance and organisational design.

Deepa was nominated for a Peace Ambassadorship by Kennedy University in 2026 and was honoured with an honorary doctorate in the field of Organisational Psychology, Strategic Management and Leadership.

Her career shows how lifelong learning can be important for leadership and business growth.
