Compass, one of the largest technology-enabled real estate
companies in the United States, has launched See It First, a new home-search experience
designed to give buyers earlier access to properties while providing sellers with additional
options for introducing homes to the market.
The feature is part of the largest redesign of Compass.com in a decade. It brings together
thousands of homes at different stages of marketing across nine brands within Compass
International Holdings, creating a broader search destination for consumers looking to identify
properties before they reach later stages of public marketing.
For buyers, See It First is designed to increase visibility into available and upcoming inventory.
Consumers can explore qualifying homes represented by real estate professionals across
Compass-affiliated brands without being required to work with a Compass agent.
“With See It First, we’re giving consumers the opportunity to discover more homes earlier,” said
Julie Keef, Compass Head of Consumer Search.
The platform also gives homeowners additional flexibility when preparing to sell. Sellers can
introduce properties to prospective buyers, assess interest and evaluate pricing before
accumulating public days on market or publicly recorded price adjustments. The approach is
intended to provide property owners and their agents with more information before deciding how
broadly to market a home.
Real estate professionals remain prominently identified on individual property listings, allowing
prospective buyers and their representatives to contact the listing professional directly for
information about a home.
The launch follows increased consumer activity on Compass.com. The company reported that
traffic to the website rose 56% year over year in August 2026. Compass is supporting the
redesigned experience with a multimillion-dollar nationwide advertising campaign aimed at
expanding awareness among U.S. homebuyers and sellers.
See It First arrives as competition among real estate platforms intensifies over how consumers
discover listings and how homeowners choose to market their properties. Industry coverage has
highlighted the growing debate around coming-soon and privately marketed listings.
